According to a Jakpat survey, Generation Z shows the most concern regarding boycotts of pro-Israel products compared to other age groups.

82% of Gen Z respondents claimed to be aware of and following the boycott issue, compared to 77% of millennials and 69% of Gen X.

Beyond mere awareness, Gen Z also demonstrated the highest participation in boycotting pro-Israel products, with 73% of respondents taking action.

Meanwhile, 61% of millennials and 54% of Gen X engaged in similar actions.

This online survey was conducted via the Jakpat application on February 19-20, 2024, involving 1,153 national respondents.

Respondents comprised 53% male and 47% female, with a margin of error of approximately 5%.

The majority of respondents resided in non-Jakarta Java (49%), followed by DKI Jakarta (39%), and islands outside Java (12%).

Respondents were predominantly young, with Gen Z (35%) and millennials (46%) making up the largest groups.

Based on occupation, the majority of respondents were employees (22%), followed by freelancers (18%) and students (17%).

The conflict between Palestine and Israel, resulting in numerous casualties, is the reason for the surge in global boycott issues in recent months.

This movement boycotts products from various brands suspected of supporting and being affiliated with Israel, ranging from fast food, fashion, food and beverages, to cosmetics and personal care products.
