Current Food Prices in Central Java: Rice Up, Chicken Down

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (24/8/2024) at 10:46 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, garlic bulbs, bulk cooking oil, farmer-level corn, and dry soybean (import).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, chicken meat, Indian mackerel, milkfish, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn experienced the highest price increase of Rp70 (1.38%) to Rp5,160 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of skipjack tuna decreased the most sharply by Rp1,200 (3.89%) to Rp29,660 per kg.
